My first two-fer, with the Virginia Bird & Wildlife State Trail. What a beautiful spot, cloudy but with a great sunset. I’m starting to get the hang of this now. You can see my essential activating tools in this picture: LiFePO4 battery, IC-705, ToughBook, and M&Ms.
A guy there with his kids on the playground kept looking at me, and finally walked over. Turns out he is the game warden for that part of the state, and he had never seen a POTA activator before. We had a very nice chat, and I gave him a copy of the POTA tri-fold brochure.
